Jonny Walker has taken the win in opening round of the 2026 AMA EnduroCross Championship in Las Vegas, nabbing overall victory with a last-lap pass on Ryder LeBlond in the deciding Moto 3. 

The Brit arrived at the final moto trailing LeBlond by one point after finishing fourth in Moto 2. LeBlond had taken the second-moto win after a 3-1 start to the night, while Walker opened the evening with victory.  

Cooper Abbott led the opening laps of the final at Orleans Arena, though LeBlond moved into the lead on Lap six and Walker following into second. LeBlond remained ahead through Lap eight, but Walker began closing in as the pair worked through traffic in the log section. 

The two riders came alongside each other before Walker edged ahead over the tyre-covered finish jump as the white flag came out. LeBlond was just 0.316 seconds behind at the start of the final lap, but Walker stretched the advantage to 1.546 seconds by the chequered flag to take his second moto win of the night. 

That gave Walker the overall on the final-moto tiebreaker, despite both riders finishing the night on six points. His 1-4-1 scorecard was enough to put him ahead of LeBlond's 3-1-2. 

Abbott completed the overall podium with a 5-2-3 result, having led the early stages of both the second and third motos. Cody Webb finished fourth overall, ahead of Colton Haaker, while Nick Thompson took sixth. 

Trystan Hart's night ended in disappointment. After finishing second and third in the opening two motos, Hart recovered from first-lap trouble in Moto 3 to cross the line eighth. However, he was subsequently disqualified for receiving prohibited on-track assistance, dropping him to 16th in the moto and seventh overall. 

The Las Vegas opener also marked EnduroCross' return to the Orleans Arena for the first time in nine years. 

In the Pro Women class, Shelby Turner led every lap to take the win ahead of Rachel Gutish and Chantelle Bykerk. Niko Piazza took the EX Expert victory after passing Nick Thompson on the final lap, while Cole Clarkson won the Intermediate class. 

The 2026 AMA EnduroCross Championship continues at the Ford Idaho Center in Nampa, Idaho, on October 17 for round two of the six-round series.
