Organising the cockpit for a navigation day
Readable information matters when the route requires frequent checks.
A navigation event changes the way a rider looks at familiar roads. Instructions, controls and checkpoints create a task alongside the riding itself. The cockpit and the rider's routine need to support that task without making each roadside stop unnecessarily complicated.
Making the idea work
Start with the organiser's explanation of the format and practise using the chosen equipment before the day. At the finish, review one or two moments that caused confusion. A focused review gives the next outing a clearer purpose than simply trying to cover more distance.
