Husqvarna Norden 901 Expedition Brings Rally DNA to Production

Published on December 20th, 2025 by

Husqvarna has announced the Norden 901 Expedition, a rally-inspired variant of their middleweight adventure platform designed for riders who consider the standard model's off-road capability merely a starting point. The Expedition adds 50mm of suspension travel at both ends (240mm total), upgraded WP XPLOR Pro components with full adjustability, and a 23-litre fuel tank replacing the standard 19-litre unit. Pricing is set at €17,990, representing a €3,000 premium over the standard Norden 901.

The mechanical changes extend beyond suspension. The Expedition receives a steel rally-style navigation tower, reinforced engine guards, a redesigned bash plate extending rear protection, and wide-footpeg platforms. The seat height grows to 890mm—a significant increase that may challenge shorter riders but positions taller pilots properly for standing off-road work. Weight climbs by 8 kilograms to 212kg ready to ride, a penalty Husqvarna deems acceptable given the added capability and fuel capacity.

Quick Tip

Keep in mind that proper preparation prevents problems. Take your time and do it right.

Remember

Take your time to understand the fundamentals before pushing boundaries.

The 889cc parallel twin carries over unchanged, producing 105 horsepower with the smooth, predictable delivery that defines this engine family. Husqvarna has, however, added a new "Rally" riding mode with softer throttle response and reduced traction control intervention specifically calibrated for off-road conditions. The standard bike's cornering ABS system gains an off-road mode allowing controlled rear wheel slides while maintaining front wheel protection. European deliveries commence April 2026, with Australian and North American markets following in June.
