KTM 390 Adventure Gets Significant 2026 Refresh

Published on December 26th, 2025 by

KTM has addressed the most common criticisms of its entry-level adventure offering with a substantially updated 2026 390 Adventure. The revision includes a larger 17-litre fuel tank (up from 14.5 litres), revised suspension with 20mm additional travel, and a new TFT display with smartphone connectivity. Power from the 373cc single remains at 44 horsepower, but revised fueling improves throttle response at low revs.

The suspension upgrade specifically targets the soft, underdamped feel that plagued the original model on rough roads. Both fork and shock receive revised valving, and spring rates suit a wider range of rider weights without adjustment. Travel increases to 170mm front and 177mm rear—not enduro territory but genuine improvement over the previous 150mm/160mm figures. The new setup should handle light trail use with confidence rather than the wallowing uncertainty of the original specification.

Quick Tip

Keep in mind that proper preparation prevents problems. Take your time and do it right.

Remember

Take your time to understand the fundamentals before pushing boundaries.

Pricing is announced at €6,799 in Germany, representing a €400 increase over the outgoing model that seems reasonable given the scope of improvements. The 390 Adventure competes directly against the BMW G 310 GS and Kawasaki Versys 300, both of which cost similarly while offering less off-road capability. For new adventure riders seeking a manageable, affordable entry point, this KTM now makes a stronger argument than ever before.
