SuperEnduro Budapest: Lettenbichler Opens Title Defence

Published on January 12th, 2026 by

Manuel Lettenbichler opened his SuperEnduro World Championship title defence with a dominant performance at Budapest's Papp László Sportaréna. The Red Bull KTM rider won all three finals to claim maximum points, extending his remarkable run of form from the outdoor hard enduro season into the indoor arena. His winning margin in the superfinal exceeded eight seconds—a substantial gap in indoor racing where passing opportunities are frequent and positions change constantly.

Billy Bolt salvaged second overall despite a crash in final two that dropped him to fourth in that race. The Husqvarna rider demonstrated the speed to challenge Lettenbichler in sections but made errors that his rival did not. Third overall went to Jonny Walker on the Beta, marking an encouraging debut for the British rider's new team after an injury-interrupted 2025 season.

Round two moves to Lodz, Poland on February 15th, with Lettenbichler holding a nine-point advantage over Bolt in the provisional standings. Six rounds will decide the 2026 championship.
