Team Guatemala claimed victory at the 2026 CFMoto MT Challenge Global Final in Spain, beating Spain and France after two days of adventure riding challenges in Huelva.

Held from September 26-28, the second edition of the international event brought together 20 teams from more than 20 countries and regions, with nearly 200 riders, organisers and CFMoto staff attending. The competition followed the inaugural Global Final in Melbourne, Australia, last year, which was won by Team New Zealand.

Teams of four riders qualified through regional events across Asia, Latin America and Europe before travelling to southern Spain to compete aboard the newly released CFMoto 1000MT-X, replacing the 800MT-X used at the 2025 final.

Technical challenges open the competition

Day one centred on the Venue Challenge, with 10 sections designed to test riders' abilities across a range of terrain and obstacles.

Among the tasks was the returning SENA Blindfold Challenge, which required one rider to navigate a course blindfolded using only verbal instructions from a teammate via a SENA intercom. The CFMoto-developed TAI CHI Challenge tested directional control and adaptability on loose sand, while the Natural Extreme Trial used the natural terrain at Monteblanco for an enduro-style test.

The Figure eight Plus and Sand Crossing challenges added further tests of balance, maneuverability and control on difficult surfaces.

A new addition for 2026 was the MT Dream Team, a quartet of professional riders led by CFMoto brand ambassador and hard enduro aficionado Mario Román, who joined the activities and set a benchmark for the competitors.

Day two took riders beyond the circuit for a longer course combining navigation, checkpoints and varied terrain. The Time Gap Challenge also measured the difference between the finishing times of two riders selected by each team, adding another element of strategy and consistency to the competition.

Guatemala takes the title

After two days of competition, Team Guatemala topped the overall standings, with Team Spain finishing runner-up and Team France completing the podium.

Individual awards recognised both all-round ability and performances in specific challenges. Khoun-Sith Vongsana of Team France and Franklin Noguera of the Dominican Republic received the overall MT Master honours, with both also among the winners of the Best Technique awards across three designated challenges.

Roberto Ungaro of Team Italy took the MT Spirit award for perseverance, passion, positive energy and teamwork.

Markus Ferch, VP of Sales Europe for CFMoto, said:

“We wanted to bring MT owners together to experience what the motorcycles can truly do, to take on new challenges and to share the adventure with not only the other finalists but online throughout the world. The MT spirit means pushing boundaries, inspiring one another and riding as a community.”Â
